About us:
Our mission is to  to support healthy eating and active
living in California by providing strong leadership, provider
and community empowerment, and vigorous advocacy in
support of effective food, nutrition, and physical activity
policies and programs. We accomplish our mission through

  • Advancement of ideas, policies, and practices to
    improve the health and well-being of the
    communities we serve,

  • Training, technical assistance and improved
    communication between and among the state
    agency and local projects,

  • Facilitating peer support and grassroots leadership
    development to improve program quality and
    integrity,

  • Development of projects and initiatives to
    complement and enhance existing programs, and

  • Administrative streamlining with state and federal
    funding agencies to improve procedures and
    practices related to federally funded nutrition
    education operations.
